HC Deb 20 November 1953 vol 520 cc207-8W
Dr. Morgan

asked the Secretary of State for the Colonies in view of the fact that Elected Members of the Execu- tive Council of St. Kitts-Nevis-Anguilla, who have established their ability as quasi Ministers of Government, are now making representations for more responsibility to discharge their obligations to the Presidency, what steps are being taken to grant the wishes of the representatives of the people of the Presidency.

Mr. Lyttelton

The Presidency's new constitution has been in operation only since October, 1952. I am in consultation with the Governor about the representations made by the Elected Members of Executive Council.
