Mr. Swinglerasked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs what will be the United Kingdom's contribution to the United Nations Technical Assistance Programme for 1954; how this sum compares with the contributions made in previous years; and how it compares with the contributions being made by other leading Powers.
§ Mr. NuttingAs regards the first part of the Question, I would refer the hon. Member to the answer which I gave to the hon. Member for Blackburn, East (Mrs. Castle) on 11th November.
As regards the second part, the United Kingdom contribution for the 18 months from July, 1950, to December, 1951, was £760,000; for the year 1952 £450,000; and for 1953, £500,000.
As regards the last part, the principal contributions pledged for 1954, expressed in dollars, are as follow:

Mr. Callaghanasked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs if he has considered the communications sent to him by a number of representative bodies expressing concern that the United Nations Technical Assistance Programme is being curtailed through lack of funds; and what instructions have been given to the British representative.
