HC Deb 17 November 1953 vol 520 c133W
52. Colonel Gomme-Duncan

asked the Secretary of State for War what qualifications are required for candidates for admission to the Military College of Science at Shrivenham through the new direct entry scheme.

Mr. J. R. H. Hutchison

Apart from the usual nationality and medical requirements, candidates must have satisfactorily completed the normal National Service officer training and had some six months' regimental duty; must pass the tests of character and personality at the Regular Commissions Board; and must satisfy the minimum entrance requirements of London University and have passed, or obtained exemption from, the intermediate examination in science or engineering of that university.
