§ Mr. MaudlingThe sums owed to the Government of the United Kingdom by foreign and Commonwealth Governments, other than those arising from the 1914–18 war, are recorded on pages 61, 62 and 72 to 76 of the Finance Accounts of the United Kingdom for the financial year ended 31st March, 1953, and amounted at that date to£496 million and£11 million respectively.
