§ 81. Sir H. Williamsasked the President of the Board of Trade why, under Statutory Instrument No. 1536, the protectionist duty on parts of, and accessories to, concertinas and accordions has been reduced from 33⅓ per cent. to 25 per cent.
Mr. AmoryThis Order was made on the recommendation of the Board of Trade after full consideration of an application from a firm of manufacturers and importers of accordions that the duty on parts of, and accessories to, accordions should be reduced from 33⅓ per cent.ad valorem to 25 per cent. ad valorem, which is the duty on the complete article. Full opportunity was given to all interested parties to express their view on this application.
