asked the Under-Secretary of State for Air how many deaths and injuries, respectively, have resulted from military and civil air accidents during each of the last five years.

The following table gives the numbers of aircrew and passengers (both Service and civil) killed and seriously injured in accidents to Royal Air Force aircraft during the last five calendar years.

Notes:

* Includes those who died of their injuries within 30 days of the accident.

† The flying effort of the Royal Air Force in 1952 was over twice as great as in 1948.
