§ 86. Mr. C. Hughes
asked the First Lord of the Admiralty if he is in a position to make a statement about H.M.S. "Conway," now beached in the Menai Straits, and its repair or replacement.
§ Commander Noble
The "Conway," which has for very many years been on loan to, and under the administration of, the governing committee of the school ship bearing that name, is reported to be a total loss. Before deciding what, if anything, remains to be done or can be done by the Admiralty, my right hon. Friend is awaiting a report of the inquiry set up by the governing committee. Any question of replacement will be for the school ship authorities to decide.
