Brigadier Medlicottasked the Minister of Fuel and Power if he will take steps to ensure that in anticipation of the winter of 1953–54 ample stocks of coal are made available during the next few months for householders in East Anglia, and particularly for those in the counties of Norfolk and Suffolk.
§ Mr. Joynson-HicksThe total quantity of coal available for stocking during the summer will depend on the level of output. To ensure that each region gets its proper share of the quantities available, supplies to the house coal market will be kept under review throughout the summer by the National Coal Board and the House Coal Distribution (Emergency) Scheme, the trade organisation responsible for merchants' allocations.
