asked the Minister of Food the total amount paid to the Northern Ireland Government by way of consumer subsidies for the financial years 1949, 1950, 1951, 1952 and 1953.

No payments are made to the Government of Northern Ireland by way of consumer subsidies; the cost of these subsidies throughout the United Kingdom is borne on the Vote of my Department.
