HC Deb 31 March 1953 vol 513 c144W
Mr. Bossom

asked the Minister of Agriculture if he will give help to farmers to enable them to produce the additional £200,000,000 worth of home-produced food this year, as it takes approximately a £ of capital to meet each £ of expenses in this programme.

Sir T. Dugdale

The Government have had in mind the capital requirements of the food production programme as well as other factors in the settlement of prices and production grants following this year's Annual Review, and I would refer my hon. Friend to the White Paper (Cmd. 8798) published on 20th March and to the reply given by my hon. Friend the Joint Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries on 23rd March.
