HC Deb 26 March 1953 vol 513 c108W
93. Mr. K. Thompson

asked the Minister of Health why penalties of £500 and, on appeal, £100 on a doctor and a chemist, respectively, were imposed for certain alleged misdemeanours of which they had previously been acquitted when summoned on indictment before a high court.

Miss Hornsby-Smith

The case of the doctor is still under consideration. A sum of £100 was withheld from the chemist's remuneration on account of irregularities which were in breach of the terms of his contract under the National Health Service. The acquittal in the courts was on charges of conspiracy to defraud.
