§ 88. Mr. Jannerasked the President of the Board of Trade whether, in view of the fact that the system of export licences 80W for spare parts is having an adverse effect on our export trade, since it retards prompt service of machinery to buyers overseas, he will consider instead issuing blanket export licences up to a given limit to cover immediate supplies of essential spare parts for servicing abroad the various kinds of British manufactured machines.
§ Mr. MackesonIn general, spare parts for servicing machinery may be exported without licence, but for security reasons it is not possible to allow uncontrolled exports in all cases. My center hon. Friend is prepared to consider on its merits any application for a blanket licence to cover urgent demands.
