§ Miss Hornsby-SmithPrecise figures are not available, but local authorities and voluntary organisations are conscious of the need for accommodation of this type, and of the additional accommodation for 1.093 blind persons provided since 5th July, 1948, a substantial proportion is in accommodation of this kind.
