asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer if he is aware that in 1911 Members of Parliament received £400 per annum salary; and what rate of salary would be necessary today for a Member of Parliament to receive the equivalent in purchasing value of £400 per annum in 1911, £600 in 1937 and £1,000 in 1946.

Yes. The equivalent rates today would be approximately £1,480, £1,400 and £1,460 respectively.
