asked the President of the Board of Trade the total value of the imports of exposed cinematograph film from the United States of America for exhibition in this country in each of the years 1934 to 1938 and 1946 to 1952, inclusive.

I understand that my hon. Friend is referring to payments to the United States in respect of the exhibition of films in the United Kingdom. The following are the figures for the post-war years; similar information is not available for pre-war years, when there was no exchange control.
