HC Deb 13 March 1953 vol 512 c153W
Mr. Jay

asked the Under-Secretary of State for Commonwealth Relations why the estimate for expenditure on Commonwealth services, as shown in the Vote on Account, is reduced to £1,815,304 in 1953–54, compared with £5,312,072 in 1952–53.

Mr. J. Foster

The figures for 1952–53 included a non-recurrent payment of £3,947,368 to the Government of Southern Rhodesia as a loan for railway development.
