HC Deb 05 March 1953 vol 512 c70W
Mr. Longden

asked the Secretary of State for the Colonies whether the transfer of the Western Pacific High Commission Administration to the British Solomon Islands has been completed.

Mr. Lyttelton

The High Commissioner and the majority of his staff have now moved from Suva in Fiji to Honiara in the British Solomon Islands Protectorate, which from the 1st January, 1953, became the headquarters of the High Commission. Only a small staff now remains in Suva to clear up the High Commission's affairs there.
