HC Deb 04 March 1953 vol 512 c41W
93. Major Anstruther-Gray

asked the Assistant Postmaster-General to give an estimate of the increased cost to his Department caused by the recent rise in the price of coal.

Mr. Gammans

As far as we can see at present, the increased cost of fuel used by the Post Office will be about £50,000 a year. It is too early to speculate how other costs, e.g., conveyance of mails, light and power, may be affected.
