HC Deb 04 March 1953 vol 512 cc33-4W
56. Mr. Philip Bell

asked the First Lord of the Admiralty whether he will arrange that candidates for cadetships in the Royal Navy shall have their medical examination prior to their written examinations and interviews.

Mr. J. P. L. Thomas

Under the present procedure, candidates who qualify in the written examination are medically examined prior to their attending for interview. I regret that it would not be practicable to arrange a medical examination for all the candidates who sit the written examination.
