§ 100. Mr. Rentonasked the Under-Secretary of State for Air what steps have been taken during 1952, and what steps will be taken in 1953, in order to reduce substantially the administrative costs of the Department.
Mr. WardA constant watch is kept on administrative costs, and I am glad to say the great expansion of the Royal Air Force has involved only minor increases in headquarters staff. This has been achieved by the strict control of both Service and civil staffs and a constant adjustment of staff to the task in hand.
