48. Mr. Emrys Hughes

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer why Government expenditure on hospitality, as shown in the Civil Estimates for 1953–54, Vote on Account, will be £80,000 as compared with £65,000 in 1952–53.

Because more official guests are expected in Coronation year, particularly from the Commonwealth.
