HC Deb 25 June 1953 vol 516 cc162-3W
71. Sir D. Robertson

asked the Minister of Health why contributors to the National Health Service who are taken ill when away from home and are treated by a doctor under the scheme who prescribes medicine are unable to get the prescription renewed without visiting their own doctor or another doctor and getting another prescription for a repeat dose of the same medicine.

Mr. Iain Macleod

Any doctor can give more than one prescription dated so as to allow for repeat dispensing at suitable intervals.
