HC Deb 22 June 1953 vol 516 cc110-1W
85. Mr. D. Jones

asked the Minister of National Insurance whether he will make a statement about the inclusion of invalid children between 15 and 16 years of age in the family allowances scheme.

86. Mr. E. Johnson

asked the Minister of National Insurance whether he is aware that handicapped children undergoing home tuition, unlike children attending school, are not eligible for family allowances after the age of 15; and whether he will take steps to grant allowances for them.

Mr. Peake

I hope very shortly to make regulations enabling allowances to be paid in respect of certain invalid or handicapped children, including handicapped children undergoing home tuition arranged by local education authorities.
