§ 60. Mr. Anthony Greenwoodasked the Minister of Health whether he will make a statement on the provision of facilities in hospitals for religious worship by patients and staff.
§ Mr. Iain MacleodHospital authorities have been asked to give special attention to providing for the spiritual needs of both patients and staff. A chaplain, or chaplains from more than one denomination, should be appointed for every hospital and the regular holding of services is regarded as among his duties. There should be in each hospital a chapel, or a room set apart to serve as a chapel, available for any denomination wishing to use it; and hospital authorities have been asked to arrange hours of duty as far as possible to enable nurses and other staff to attend services.
