HC Deb 10 June 1953 vol 516 c13W
20. Sir D. Robertson

asked the Minister of Food the tonnage of ware and seed potatoes, respectively, which remain unsold in pits in Scotland at the latest convenient date; and the tonnage of seed potatoes which has been sold for animal food.

Dr. Hill

It is estimated that fewer than 30,000 tons of ware and seed potatoes remain on farms in Scotland. No figures are available of the tonnage of seed potatoes sold for animal food.
