HC Deb 30 July 1953 vol 518 cc202-3W
96. Mr. Hare

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department whether he will inform the House of the progress made in their inquiries by the Committee on Coastal Flooding under the chairmanship of Lord Waverley.

Sir D. Maxwell Fyfe

Lord Waverley's Committee has made an interim Report on the subject of a flood warning system which is being studied. The Report is being printed and will be published next week.

Brigadier Medicott

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department if he can now make a statement as to the progress of the work of the committee on coastal flooding, in view of the possibility of further severe storms later in the year.

Sir D. Maxwell Fyfe

I would refer my hon. and gallant Friend to the answer which I have given today to a Question by my hon. Friend the Member for Sudbury and Woodbridge (Mr. Hare).
