§ Mr. Deedesasked the Minister of Housing and Local Government the value of rural water schemes submitted for approval; the value of schemes approved but not yet authorised to go to tender; the value of schemes authorised for commencement; and the value of grants paid 103W under the Rural Water Supplies and Sewerage Acts, 1944 and 1951 to the last convenient date.
§ Mr. MarplesThe total value of rural water schemes for England and Wales submitted to my Department up to 30th June, 1953 is £72,058,741. The value of schemes authorised to begin £37,069,870; the value of schemes approved in principle but not yet finally authorised is £14,994,318. The total amount of grants paid in respect of rural water schemes in England and Wales up to 30th June is £5,369,101. In addition a further £10 million odd has been promised.
