HC Deb 22 July 1953 vol 518 c43W
70. Mr. Peter Freeman

asked the Minister of Food whether, in view of the shortage and necessity of a supply of prunes, he will arrange to import some from Yugoslavia pending obtaining such supplies from the United States of America.

Dr. Hill

The Yugoslav 1952 crop was much below normal and none of it is now available. The 1953 crop will not be harvested until the late autumn, but my right hon. and gallant Friend will certainly consider the hon. Member's suggestion.
