asked the Secretary of State for the Colonies if, in view of the fact that his offence is one of gambling only, he will reconsider the case of Mr. Ho Yew Mau who is to be expelled from Singapore and sent to Communist China, where he will be in peril of his life.

Action to expel this man to China has been suspended and an alternative punishment is now being considered.
