asked the Minister of Works how large a staff is employed by his Department wholly or mainly for work at Osterley; how many directly by the Victoria and Albert Museum in connection with the care of the contents of the house; the total acreage of land in his care; how much of such land is let to tenants; and the total expenditure at Osterley over the last 12 months.

My Department employs 12 men wholly or mainly for work at Osterley Park, and I am informed that the Victoria and Albert Museum employs 15 for the care of the contents of the house. The total area of land is 140 acres of which just over 60 acres are let to tenants. Total expenditure during the 12 months ended 30th June. 1953, was £29,225
