Mr. Spearing

asked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food if he will tabulate in the Official Report the tonnage and cost of export refunds and/or monetary compensatory amounts, respectively, to each named country in 1982 receiving surplus United Kingdom cereals, to which £1 million or more in export refunds or other amounts was applicable, together with other countries, adding respective totals.

The following is the available information on the export refunds and monetary compensatory amounts paid in 1982 on cereals including flour and malt, exported from the United Kingdom to third countries, broken down according to the destinations declared by the exporters.

These figures, which were obtained by a special interrogation of the computer records of the Intervention Board for Agricultural Produce, represent the only information available in the form requested. They are, however, known to be incomplete in some respects.
