HC Deb 21 July 1953 vol 518 c25W
94. Mr. Malcolm MacPherson

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland what conclusions have been reached as a result of the attentive examination which Her Majesty's Gracious Speech indicated would be given to the question of the supply of electricity in Scotland; and what legislation is contemplated.

Mr. J. Stuart

Changes in the present organisation for electricity supply in Scotland require legislation, which I am actively considering in consultation with my right hon. Friend the Minister of Fuel and Power. As to the nature of the contemplated legislation, I must ask the hon. Member to await the presentation of a Bill.
