§ Mr. G. R. Straussasked the Minister of Supply what specific arrangements he has made with the full-time members of the Steel Board about the outside remunerative work they may undertake.
§ Mr. SandysAs I explained to the House on 21st May, the letters of appointment of full-time members of the Board provide that, except in so far as the Board with my approval may otherwise permit, they are to devote themselves exclusively to the business of the Board. The Board have informed me that they have given permission to Sir Archibald Forbes to 195W continue to hold appointments on the boards of directors of Spillers, Ltd. and of the Debenture Corporation. Having satisfied myself that these appointments will not interfere with the proper discharge of his duties as Chairman of the Board, I have given my approval.
