HC Deb 15 July 1953 vol 517 c166W
55. Brigadier Medlicott

asked the Assistant Postmaster-General if he is aware that radio reception along the East Coast, and especially in the county of Norfolk, is still subject to interference from overseas transmitters; and what plans he has in hand to overcome this long-standing grievance.

Mr. Gammans

The Home Service from the London station suffers interference from a station at Dresden which. in spite of repeated protests, is still operating on an adjacent wavelength, contrary to the Copenhagen plan. This interference is particularly noticeable in Norfolk.

I understand that the B.B.C. have begun work on a lower power station at Cromer, which should lead to substantial local improvement.
