§ 91. Mr. Noel-Bakerasked the Minister of Housing and Local Government what steps have been taken by Her Majesty's Government to encourage local authorities and other owners of house property to install high-efficiency solid fuel appliances both in new houses and in existing dwellings.
§ Mr. MarplesThe installation of recommended appliances is required in all new local authority houses, and local authorities have been asked to do all they can to secure that appliances in new private houses are of this type. It is also a condition of improvement grant for work on old property that any appliance installed shall be of the recommended type.
