asked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs what instructions were given to Her Majesty's Government's delegate at the recent conference of the International Civil Aviation Organisation towards the application of Nationalist China for membership of the International Civil Aviation Organisation.

Mr. Selwyn Lloyd

No application by the Chinese Nationalist authorities for China to become a member of the International Civil Aviation Organisation was before the Assembly which met recently in Brighton. The question of instructions to the United Kingdom delegate on this point did not, therefore, arise.
