asked the Minister of Food why he derationed gammons and at the same time reduced the bacon ration.

Dr. Hill

To give greater freedom in the use of the bacon supplies available. The freeing of surplus gammon is in no way related to the temporary reduction in the bacon ration. As already announced, it is hoped to restore the ration to 5 oz. on 22nd February.
