HL Deb 20 January 1953 vol 179 c1140WA
LORD METHUEN

asked Her Majesty's Government (a) when it is expected to complete the investigation of historic buildings under the Town and Country Planning Act, 1947 (section thirty); (b) when it is proposed to complete and circulate the lists of historic houses to the appropriate authorities; (c) if it is intended to publish these lists, and if so at what stage.

THE LORD PRESIDENT OF THE COUNCIL (THE MARQUESS OF SALISBURY)

It is not yet possible to say when this survey will be completed. So far, 984 of the 1,480 local authority areas have been covered. The lists are circulated to local authorities as and when they are completed. It is not, at present, proposed to publish the lists; but each list is put on deposit and is available for inspection at the local authority office.

House adjourned at a quarter before six o'clock.
