asked the Secretary of State for Scotland (1) what consultations he has had, and with what organisations or persons regarding the future control of electricity supply in Scotland; (2) if he can now make a statement on the Government's proposals referred to in the Gracious Speech from the Throne for the generation, distribution and administration of electricity supply in Scotland, or when he expects to make such a statement.

My right hon. Friend the Minister of Fuel and Power and I have had consultations, on technical matters, with representatives of the existing electricity authorities, but I am not yet in a position to make a statement.
