asked the Under-Secretary of State for Air the total value of trooping contracts awarded to civil air operators since January, 1951; and the estimated value of such contracts for the year 1953.

Mr. Ward

The value of trooping contracts let in 1951 and 1952 was about £5,100,000. The estimated value for 1953 is about £1,300,000. Some of the contracts let in 1951 and 1952 cover work to be done in 1953.
