HC Deb 19 February 1953 vol 511 cc171-2W
Mr. Thornton-Kemsley

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland how many applications have been received by local authorities for grants for the reconditioning of agricultural cottages in terms of the Housing (Scotland) Act, 1952; and how many have been rejected.

Mr. Stuart

I regret that this information is not available.

Mr. Thornton-Kemsley

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland how many local authorities are refusing to entertain applications for the reconditioning of agricultural cottages in terms of the Housing (Scotland) Act, 1952.

Mr. Stuart

Returns show that all the county councils and more than half the town councils are approving applications for improvement grants but they do not show the various types of property covered.
