HC Deb 18 February 1953 vol 511 c137W
73. Sir H. Roper

asked the Assistant Postmaster-General what proposals have been made for the setting up of new transmitting stations for television which will give coverage for parts of Cornwall; and to what extent they will cover the whole of Cornwall.

Mr. Gammans

The B.B.C's general plan approved in principle by the Government provides for a station near Plymouth. The Corporation had in mind a site at North Hessary Tor, but are now testing a possible alternative in order to estimate its approximate coverage. I cannot, therefore, answer the second part of the Question yet.
