HC Deb 18 February 1953 vol 511 cc135-6W
68. Brigadier Clarke

asked the First Lord of the Admiralty what facilities will be arranged for Members of Parliament to witness the naval review at Spithead.

Mr. J. P. L. Thomas

Arrangements are being made to invite a proportion of Members of both Houses with their wives to witness the Coronation Naval Review from liners chartered for guests of Her Majesty's Government, in which space will, of necessity, be limited. I shall take steps to ascertain the total number of Members who wish to be present and hope it will be possible for those who cannot be accommodated in the liners to witness the Review from certain of Her Majesty's Ships. These arrangements may involve Members in some small expense, but details are not yet settled.
