asked the Parmentary Secretary to the Ministry of Defence the estimated casualties, to the latest convenient date, suffered by the North Korean and Chinese forces since the invasion of South Korea.

Mr. Birch

The United Nations Command estimate North Korean killed, wounded and prisoners up to 31st January this year to be about 600.000 and Chinese to be about 840.000. Such estimates are subject to a considerable margin of error.
