§ 66. Sir W. Wakefieldasked the Minister of Education if it is now possible to give further details as to how it is proposed to expend the sum of £130,000 allocated for technical education in the recently published programme of expenditure of counterpart funds.
§ Miss HorsbrughYes. I am glad to say that the governing body of the College of Aeronautics, Cranfield, and the Loughborough College of Technology have each accepted £50,000 to endow a senior teaching post in industrial engineering. £15,000 will be spent in scholarships for persons engaged in industry to enable them to attend courses in work study at the above or other suitable educational establishments.
I shall be responsible for the disposal of these sums, amounting to £115,000. A further sum of £15,000 has been allocated for scholarships in personnel management. The responsibility for its disposal lies with my right hon. and learned Friend the Minister of Labour and National Service.
