HC Deb 16 December 1953 vol 522 cc54-5W
71. Mr. Sorensen

asked the First Lord of the Admiralty to what extent ships of the Royal Navy regularly patrol the Red Sea to maintain surveillance over craft suspected of carrying slaves from Africa to Arabia; and whether the vessels recently stopped and boarded in that vicinity were carrying slaves.

Mr. J. P. L. Thomas

With regard to the first part of the Question, I have nothing to add to the reply which my hon. and gallant Friend the Parliamentary and Financial Secretary gave to the hon. Member on this subject on 18th March, 1953. The answer to the second part is "No."
