HC Deb 15 December 1953 vol 522 cc43-4W
102. Miss Lee

asked the Minister of Pensions and National Insurance if he will introduce legislation to amend the law which forbids payment of sickness benefit to an insured industrial worker where, for a portion of the day, however small, he has been at work.

Mr. Turton

No. Sickness benefit has never been provided for periods of incapacity of less than a day, and my right hon. Friend sees no reason to introduce amending legislation on this point.
