asked the Minister of Labour if he is now in a position to make a statement regarding the placing of an appointments officer for blind persons in Scotland.

I understand that the local authorities concerned have just completed their inquiries. The individual reports are being studied prior to a further meeting of interested bodies. I will let the hon. Member know as soon as the date for this meeting is fixed.
