§ 45. Sir Herbert Williamsasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department why the experiment of a flashing beacon opposite the cab rank in Thirlby Road, S.W.1, which was to have terminated on 17th November, is still continuing.
§ Sir D. Maxwell FyfeA further period of observation was found to be necessary. In view of the fact that cab drivers have not used the rank to any appreciable 151W extent during the time it has been kept clear of private cars, the Commissioner has now decided to cancel it.
