asked the Secretary of State for the Colonies what steps are being taken to implement the recommendations of the Singapore Legislative Council to increase the number of elected representatives from nine to 18.

Mr. Lyttelton

These recommendations, which were made by a committee of Unofficial Members, are under consideration by the Constitutional Commission which is now at work in Singapore.
